A huge thank you to everyone who purchased Ducks and who attended the Event!
It was a glorious race and a fun-filled day.  Best of all, we raised big bucks with  these little ducks - all for the kids!  Can't get any better than that!  See you next year at SplashDown 9!

Glendale Kiwanis sets a shining example in The Eliminate Project as one of the 15 clubs worldwide to commit as a 100K clubs, pledging $100,000 during the 5 year campaign to rid the world of Maternal and Neo-natal Tetanus (MNT). Generous member contributions in the first 15 months have generated over $65,000 of the goal. See the club profile at Kiwanis International Foundation's The Eliminate Project website (click here) and an article on page 69 of the April issue of the Kiwanis magazine (available for viewing or download).

Founded in 1915, Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Kiwanis International and its service leadership programs for young people, including Circle K, Key Club, Key Leader, Builders Club, K-Kids, Kiwanis Junior and Aktion Club dedicate more than 19 million volunteer hours and invest US$100 million to strengthen communities and serve children annually. The Kiwanis International family comprises 600,000 adult and youth members and 8,600 clubs in 96 countries and geographic areas. Kiwanis members make their mark by responding to the needs of their communities and pooling their resources to address worldwide issues.

Globally, Kiwanis International was successful in its humanitarian efforts in eliminating iodine deficiency disorders (IDD), through the Worldwide Service Project, a US$100+ million campaign in partnership with UNICEF, which began in 1994 and concluded in 2000. It is now embarking, again with UNICEF, on the EliMiNaTe project to eliminate Maternal and Neo-natal Tetanus worldwide. For more information about Kiwanis International, please visit www.kiwanis.org. For details on The Eliminate Project, including videos, please visit theeliminateproject.org.

Kiwanis Club of Glendale has been a driving force since 1922 in improving the quality of life in our community, especially for children. Current projects include academic scholarships, Americanism essay contest in local middle schools, Guest Chef at Path Achieve Glendale (monthly), car seat safety inspection with CHP and GPD (bi-monthly), repackaging rice and beans for Salvation Army distribution (quarterly - 1 ton of each), Glendale Kiwanis Grill Team (cooking for numerous events). We sponsor the K-Kids Club at Fremont Elementary School, Key Club at Holy Family High School and at Hoover High School, Circle K at Glendale College, and Aktion Club of Glendale, as well as Boy Scout Troop 125 and Cub Scout Pack 125 and a little league baseball team and an AYSO soccer team.

Grants are given to MANY organizations, programs, and causes, including: A Noise Within, Burbank-Glendale-La Canada Industry Education Council, Character and Ethics Youth Leadership Conference, College View School (chorus performances and educational field trip), Commission on the Status of Women, COPS For Kids, Crescenta Valley High School (for Prom Plus), Foothill Autism Alliance, Glen Roberts Child Study Center, Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Glendale Association for the Retarded, Glendale Educational Foundation, Glendale Family YMCA, Glendale Healthy Kids, Glendale Memorial Hospital, Glendale Police Foundation, Glendale Public Library, Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation, Kiwanis International Foundation, Mark Keppel Elementary School (Bring Up Grades), Salvation Army Glendale Corps, Stepping Stone Players, YWCA of Glendale, and more than 50 organizations annually who benefit financially as Duck Buddy groups with our Kiwanis Incredible Duck Splash.
